WHITEFIELD, NH AND NORTH TROY, VT
DOLLAR GENERAL STORES
TCD worked with Zaremba Group and Dollar General to complete the fast track construction of Dollar General stores in Whitefield, NH and North Troy, VT. The projects each involved the construction of 9,000 sq ft pre-engineered metal buildings with Dollar General's standard interior finishes. Construction in North Troy begain in late August and the merchandising was completed by October 25th, in time for an October 28th opening. Built on the site of an old lumber scale, this project included the installation of a 12 foot tall retaining wall and significant site work to bring the site to grade. The building was finished with Nichiha siding, a new look for Dollar General, giving the appearance of a brick finish but taking less than a quarter of the time to install.
The Whitefield Dollar General project was completed on an even tighter schedule. With an original fixture date of November 19th, Dollar General approached TCD with a request to complete the project three weeks early. Working with their excellent team of subcontractors, TCD was able to finish ahead of that aggressive schedule and turned the project over on October 25th. The site work on Whitefield included the removal of approximately 300 cubic yards of ledge from within the building footprint. Both projects included work within the State right of way, including jacking sewer lines under the state highways and significant erosion control measures to minimize impacts to the general public.
